Effective from 1st May 2025
The Cameroon National Shippersβ Council (CNSC) has announced an updated requirement for the issuance of Electronic Cargo Tracking Notes (ECTN) covering all RO-RO vehicle shipments to Cameroon.
π New Requirement
In addition to the standard documentation, proof of registration in the Importers/Exporters File (FIMEX) or a valid Special Import Authorisation must now be provided when applying for an ECTN.
-
Shippers may continue to initiate ECTN requests from the port of loading.
-
A draft ECTN will be issued at the initial stage.
-
The final validated ECTN will only be released upon submission of the required FIMEX registration or Special Import Authorization.
This adjustment allows shippers to launch ECTN applications early, minimizing the risk of delays during regularisation procedures and ensuring smoother cargo processing at destination.
β οΈ Action Required
We strongly recommend all exporters and freight forwarders:
-
Review your shipment documentation in advance.
-
Ensure your FIMEX registration or Special Import Authorization is valid and available before vessel departure.
-
Coordinate closely with your ECTN issuing agent to avoid clearance delays in Cameroon.
